Time: 45 minutes
Bring a plate of super-potent Cannabis Cheeseburgers to a BBQ, and your friends will be lining up to snatch one. The earthy, herbal notes of the cannabutter pairs beautifully with the juicy ground beef patties. Layered between two buns, a slice of cheddar cheese, and all the condiments you’d want, the Cannabis-Infused Cheeseburger is the backyard BBQ star.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground chuck (at least an 80/20 percent lean-to-fat ratio)
- Salt and pepper
- 6 tbsp cannabutter (cold)
- 6 Burger buns
- 5 cheddar cheese slices
- 6 tomato slices
- 6 pickle slices (if desired)
- Ketchup, mayo, and any other condiments of choice
Equipment
- Cast iron pan
- Large mixing bowl
- Baking dish
Directions
- Keep the ground chuck and cannabutter in the refrigerator until ready to mix.
- Using hands, add both chuck and cannabutter into a large mixing bowl. Mix until barely combined, do not over mix or else the fats will begin to melt.
- Form into 6 patties using your hands, and season each side liberally with salt and pepper.
- Place burgers on a plate in the refrigerator until ready to cook.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Heat a medium cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear burgers in the cast iron pan for one minute each side. Do not fully cook through, as this will destroy the THC.
- Place seared burgers in a baking dish, and bake in the oven until fully cooked, about 10 minutes. Internal temperature should reach at least 160°F.
- While burgers are finishing, slice hamburger buns and place on a tray in the oven to brown.
- Check the burgers' internal temperature, and once cooked, place a slice of cheese on each burger, and return to the oven to melt. Remove when melted.
- Assemble burgers and buns, with tomatoes, pickles, and condiments of your choice.
