10 Recipes for DIY Edibles

Are you hungry? Don’t want to wait to buy edibles online in Canada and the mailman to arrive? Good! It’s time to learn to make your own cannabis edibles. Here are ten easy-to-master edible recipes from the basics of cannabutter to the sweet delights of cannabis-infused gummy bears.

Some of the following recipes, like the cannabutter and cannabis-infused olive oil, start with flower. Choose a strain you love, like Orange Gelato or God’s Bud, and prepare it yourself. Or, to save time and money, you can always buy a big bag of shake to get started. And finally, a few rely on cannabis tinctures like THC, CBD, or a combination of the two.

But what are we waiting for? Besides waiting to buy edibles online in Canada, of course. Let’s dig into the universe of DIY cannabis edibles!

1.Cannabutter

Before you can get started on your cannabis baking journey, you need to conquer the basics. This begins with every stoner’s base ingredient: cannabutter. Cannabis-infused butter works in both sweet and savoury dishes.

Ingredients:

2 cups unsalted butter

14 grams of cannabis flower, roughly ground

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 245ºF.
  2. Spread cannabis flower over a large baking dish, cover with tinfoil and bake for 45 minutes.
  3. In a slow cooker, add both unsalted butter and cannabis. Set to low.
  4. Allow mixture to simmer on low for up to four hours.
  5. Turn off the heat, and allow it to cold slightly.
  6. Using a cheesecloth, strain the infused butter into a mason jar or other sealable airtight container.
  7. Keep in the refrigerator for several months, and use it as needed.

2. Infused Olive Oil

Just as useful as cannabutter is, cannabis-infused olive oil. This follows a similar process as the first recipe, which means once you’ve conquered one, you can conquer the other. Keep both handy for the next time you need to add a bit of cannabis flair to a meal.

Ingredients:

2 cups extra virgin olive oil

14 grams of cannabis flower, roughly ground

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 245ºF.
  2. Spread cannabis flower over a large baking dish, cover with tinfoil and bake for 45 minutes.
  3. In a slow cooker, add both olive oil and cannabis. Set to low.
